Community. Access. Opportunity. Resilience.
We are dedicated to making our community a better place to live, learn, work and play. All of Corica Park’s Open Space Project initiatives are designed to build community, expand access, create opportunity and advance resilience.
Equity is at the core of all of our initiatives. When the needs of those most impacted by inequity are addressed in both process and offerings, we are more likely to achieve our goals of advancing community well-being for all.
Co-creating open spaces with community means people see themselves represented in them, resulting in designs that bring the people who frequent these places together in meaningful ways. Learn more here.
for(e) everyone
By rethinking who golf courses are for, we strive to reimagine these spaces as true community hubs for(e) everyone to connect with nature, with recreation, with each other and with new possibilities.
Active outreach to engage all Alameda residents-from long-time golfers to those who typically do not visit Corica Park allows us to identify how we can specifically contribute to improving the lives of the local community and equitably broaden benefit to this important community asset.
on par
Significant barriers to entry, both financial and cultural, persist in the world of golf. More broadly, green space, critical for physical and mental health, is disproportionally unavailable in underserved communities. A welcoming space for all to equally enjoy ensures that access is on par for everyone regardless of race, gender, age, ability or socioeconomic status.
Our inclusive programming and focus on approachable golf are designed to remove the hurdles that limit access to golf and other recreation by activating the space for broad benefit.
drive success
Sports and land both have a long history tied to creating opportunity. Combining the two, golf courses can be tremendous springboards for achievement. Our land use diversification efforts leverage Corica Park’s 300+ acres to create opportunities for learning and economic empowerment to drive success.
As a minority-owned golf business, we also aim to unlock the potential of the game to open doors, not just for players, but also for future leaders in all facets of the industry
scoring low
In golf, success is determined by the lower score, or the fewest number of shots taken on the hole or in the round.
The same can be said for environmental sustainability. Our ecological practices are aimed at measurably reducing carbon footprint and working towards scoring low on natural resource use, while maximizing biodiversity for climate resilience.
